Oxford United Football Club are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Part-Time Academy Goalkeeping Coach to support the development of talented young goalkeepers within our Academy.

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality goalkeeping sessions in line with the Academy's goalkeeping curriculum, supporting players to maximise both their sporting performance and personal development. This role requires an individual who can contribute to relevant, innovative, and enjoyable coaching practices while consistently upholding and demonstrating the values, standards, and behaviours expected of Oxford United Academy when working with staff, players, and parents.

Location: Oxford United Training Centre 
Hours: Tuesday: 5:00pm – 7:00pm / Wednesday 5:00pm – 7:00pm / Thursday: 
5:00pm – 7:00pm / Sunday: 10:00am – 1:00pm 
Salary: £600 Per Month 
Job Type: Part Time (9 Contracted hours per week) 

MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • To oversee the holistic development of all Academy goalkeepers across the U9s to U16s programme.
  • To deliver goalkeeping sessions across the U9s-U16s and assist in delivering goalkeeping sessions every week.
  • To contribute to the formation of the Academy's goalkeeping coaching curriculum in conjunction with assistant GK coaches, phase leads, and team coaches.
  • Assist in providing feedback on goalkeeping progress as part of the standard Kitman Labs reporting and review system.
  • Contribute to comment specific age groups Clips on Hudl.
  • To follow Club policies and procedures to ensure the safeguarding of all players within the academy.
  • Completion of admin-related tasks.
  • To liaise with relevant staff regarding the holistic development of the young goalkeepers across the Academy programme.
  • Contribute to wider Academy life as required in line with Academy strategic aims.

  • Ability to work in high pressured, elite performance environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines with a high level of precision and reliability.
  • Willingness to contribute to wider aspects of Academy Life with a sense of adaptability and co-operation.
  • High character individual who will represent the values of the club at all times.
  • Keen interest in evidence-based, preparation, and performance strategies involving the adolescent footballer.
  • To be aware of the EPPP rules and requirements relating to all the phases.
  • To be aware of current trends and best practices in Youth Development.
  • To undertake Continued Professional Development (CPD) organised by the Club.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • National Goalkeeping Course.
  • UEFA B (or working towards it).
  • Willing to enrol in relevant coaching courses.
  • Minimum of 2-year experience coaching goalkeepers in a football environment.
  • FA CPD qualification in goalkeeping.
  • Ability to follow club policies and procedures to ensure the safeguarding of all players within the academy.
  • Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Level 2 Emergency First Aid in Football.
  • Safeguarding for children.
  • Full Enhanced Disclosure DBS Check.

Desirable

  • UEFA B Goalkeeping
  • Experience of EPPP / Working in a professional environment
  • Clear understanding of the youth physical development model, EPPP, and LTAD
  • FA Youth Models
  • Good understanding of Excel, database management, and PMA
