James joined Oxford on a three-year deal on 12th July 2017. He started his career at Reading, spending time at Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth and Norwich on loan before spending four years at Millwall. He then moved on to Wolverhampton Wanderers for three seasons, making over 120 appearances before spending much of the 2016/17 season on loan at Bolton Wanderers, who he helped to promotion from League 1. Was United’s joint-top scorer with 11 goals in the 2017/18 season and top scorer with 15 goals in the 2018/19 season.
