Rob had further loans with MK Dons, Birmingham City and Bolton Wanderers before signing permanently for Bolton in July 2013.

While with Bolton, Rob had two further loan spells with MK Dons, for whom he scored a hat-trick against Leyton Orient. Rob has represented England at U16, U17, U18 and U19 levels and was a member of the team that won the UEFA European Under-17 Football Championship in 2010.
