Oxford United look to bounce back on the road when they travel to Fratton Park to take on Portsmouth on Saturday afternoon (3pm).

“It's been a really good week on the training pitches." Buckingham told OUFC.co.uk. "We spoke about having a free week and the strength of this group, making sure we are together, and we stay together. That's strong around this place and we've seen that Monday, certainly Tuesday, and then again in today's training session.

“I think you're always judged on the external, which is the result, but again, we've got a lot of things that we've built and we're building internally, and the players have worked extremely hard this week on making sure we're clear on what they are. If we can show internally that we're hitting the standards and hitting them as often as we can, we'll put ourselves in a very strong position.

“I think it's a great opportunity to come off the back of that defeat against Orient and go into what will be a very good game. We've got a full squad available to us for the first time in a long time and a very hungry playing group that wants to go and put it right.

“The away fans have made a massive impact on the results of games, and we expect the same again on Saturday and we'll do as much as we can to give them something to cheer about and support with. They have been with us all the way through and that will be so important, not just for Saturday, but going through the rest of the games.

“Fin Stevens and Elliott Moore are both available for selection going into this weekend. Fin only had one day of training before Orient, so we chose not to put him on for that game, but he is more than capable of starting if needed for Saturday, and Elliott's trained fully this week. So again, it gives us a bit of a headache and a selection problem but it's a headache that I'm more than happy to have.

“We want to go there and put across a good account of ourselves, and the way the players have responded this week has been second to none. They've been attentive to what we've been doing and they're looking forward to what they know will be a very good and tough game come Saturday.”
