“I was released after the two years, but what an incredible experience! I played at grounds such as Highbury, White Hart Lane, Upton Park and had the pleasure of playing against some incredibly well known and talented players.
“One of the highlights was being allowed to play for Northern Ireland in Billy Hamilton’s testimonial at The Manor – even though I am not Irish! Pat Jennings was in goal and I remember the size of his hands – they were like shovels!!! Great times indeed.
