Oxford United U18s host AFC Wimbledon in the EFL Youth Alliance Cup at the Training Ground on Saturday (KO 11am).
United’s youngsters will be looking to bounce back on home turf this weekend after being knocked out of the FA Youth Cup following a valiant display against Preston North End at Deepdale on Monday.
The U’s ran out 5-1 winners against Luton Town in the quarter finals in December and will be looking to continue their good run in cup competitions this season after equalling the club record by getting to the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup.
Slavi Spasov made his return for the first time in two months on Monday night and could be involved again as the U’s look to make it to the regional final of the Youth Alliance League Cup.
Lead PDP coach Leon Blackmore-Such told us:
“We have a fantastic opportunity at home against AFC Wimbledon on Saturday and we are looking forward to another challenge. This is the third of three big games over the last two weeks and we know it will be another test. We know there is a massive game for the first team at Newcastle but we hope as many fans, friends and family as possible will come and support the boys on Saturday.”
The match will be played at the Oxford United Training Ground (OX4 2RR) with FREE entry for supporters. Kick-off is at 11am.
We will bring you a full report on the game as soon as we can right here on the official website.
