Oxford United Under-18s made it three wins in a row with a 1-0 victory against Bromley.
A Harrison Bradney goal on his return was enough to separate the sides and despite Oxford’s dominance, they settled for a 1-0 win against the London side.
The Under-18s came into this one hoping to continue their form before the break, with big wins against Watford and Gillingham.
It didn’t take long for the U’s to get onto the front foot with big chances for both Mubarak and Kesh early on.
Oxford kept on causing all kinds of problems for Bromley, attacking down the left with Mo and Bradney linking up beautifully.
The linkup came close to the opener on the thirty-minute mark with Bradney striking the post from range.
Bradney eventually got the goal he deserved in the 35th minute, marking his return to the starting 11 with a bang. The midfielder finished with a fine strike into the corner to get the game’s opener.
Mo Missanga continued to make life difficult for his opposing fullback in the second half, but couldn’t find that final bit of magic and struggled to really test the Bromley keeper.
Oxford had a few chances to put the game to bed in the closing stages, with Mubarak hitting the woodwork, but they were unable to extend their advantage.
Bradney’s goal remained the only one in this contest as the U's picked up a valuable three points and a clean sheet on the road.
