Oxford United Under-18s fell to a 1-0 defeat this past weekend, as the league leaders strengthened their position at the top of the table.
Cambridge United continued their unbeaten start to the league campaign, with a converted penalty proving the only difference between the two sides.
Oxford started the game well, looking for a reaction from a disappointing defeat against MK Dons the week before.

Despite a good start for Oxford, the side struggled to really test the Cambridge keeper and lacked that bit of spark in the final third.
Cambridge won a penalty in the 37th minute and after a long wait, the visitors converted from the spot to open the scoring.
The game then turned into a scrappy one in the early stages of the second half which forced both sides to make crucial defensive interactions.
Unfortunately for Oxford, they failed to break down the Cambridge defence and it was the visitors who picked up all three points to strengthen their position at the top of the league.
