Mo Missanga has been awarded September's Tripp Hearing Goal of the Month award for his first senior goal in the 4-0 victory away to Leicester City.
In just his second start for the first team, Missanga doubled the U’s lead at the King Power with a superb piece of individual brilliance. Kai Andrews beat the offside trap down the left before picking out Mo, who raced through on goal. Showing great composure, he chopped the ball back past the covering defender before coolly slotting into the far corner, sending the sell-out away end into raptures.
It was an unforgettable moment for everyone connected with the Club, as Mo’s remarkable journey from the academy to the senior side reached another milestone.
Receiving 48% of the votes from supporters voting exclusively through the Oxford United app, Missanga's goal narrowly edged a strong field. Gatlin O'Donkor's goal finishing off an exquisite team move against Burton Albion placed second in the vote, just ahead of Jenna Legg's outstanding strike for the Women's team in their win away to Hashtag United.
