Goal A: Mo Missanga vs Leicester City
September saw 18-year-old Mo Missanga cement his place in the Men's first-team squad, scoring his first goal in a victory away at Leicester City. After delivering a sublime cross for Mark Harris to open the scoring, Missanga doubled United’s advantage with a moment of individual brilliance. Beating the offside trap, he raced through on goal, cut inside the covering defender, and curled a superb finish into the far corner.
Goal B: Holly Manders vs MK Dons
As September came to a close, Women’s Team forward Holly Manders sat top of the Club’s goalscoring charts. The young attacker continued her impressive form this season with a stunning strike against MK Dons in the cup, lashing a left-footed effort from outside the box into the top corner and giving the goalkeeper absolutely no chance.
Goal C: Leo Snowden vs ProDirect Academy
Leo Snowden has made his breakthrough into the Men's first-team squad this season, making several appearances from the bench while continuing to make his mark with the Academy. In the Under-21s’ fixture against ProDirect Academy, Leo picked up the ball just inside the opposition half before gliding past four players down the left-hand side and calmly slotting the ball into the far corner.
Goal D: Gatlin O'Donkor vs Burton Albion
The young forward continued his impressive start to the season by scoring the third goal in United’s home victory over Burton Albion. A sublime team move, featuring fine interplay between Goodrham and Dembele, culminated in the ball being laid off to O’Donkor, who kept his composure to calmly slot his finish underneath the goalkeeper and into the net for his third goal of the season.
Goal E: Jenna Legg vs Hashtag United
The Women’s 5-0 victory away at Hashtag United was capped by a sublime strike from captain Jenna Legg. With the ball cleared from a United set piece, it fell to Legg around 30 yards from goal. She unleashed an incredible effort into the bottom corner, the ball rocketing off her boot and flying through the air without touching the ground before nestling in the net.
Goal F: Maeson Vaughan vs Colchester United
The Academy have continued to produce some outstanding goals this month, and Maeson Vaughan’s strike against Colchester was a perfect example. Picking up the ball just outside the area, Vaughan turned towards goal before unleashing a rocket of a left-footed strike that flew past the goalkeeper and into the roof of the net.
Those are our six contenders for September, and now it's over to you to crown this month's standout strike.
