PREVIEW Oxford United v Tottenham Hotspur U21

A full guide to tonight's Papa John's Trophy game at the Kassam Stadium

26 October 2021

Oxford United welcome Tottenham Hotspur U21 to the Kassam Stadium this evening in the Papa John's Trophy (7.45pm)

TEAM NEWS
The U's are likely to make changes despite an excellent win at Burton on Saturday.

That game saw Jack Stevens miss out with glandular fever and Simon Eastwood is likely to continue in goal this evening with youngster Kie Plumley acting as cover after being recalled from his loan at Weston-super-Mare.

Marcus McGuane, Jamie Hanson and Joel Cooper are all available after injury although Sam Winnall is a doubt with a calf strain.

The competition often sees youngsters given a chance and midfielders Josh Johnson and Josh Anifowose, defenders James Golding and Michael Elechi, and forward Adam Smith are in the squad.

THE OPPOSITION
Spurs have beaten Stevenage and lost to Cambridge so far, leaving them three points above the U's.
