Women Travel to Home Park

Oxford United Women’s season continues with a second trip to Plymouth Argyle this Sunday (2:00pm).

This is United’s fourth game of the season against the Pilgrims, having already played them in the league and in both the Women’s National League Cup and the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.

Oxford narrowly lost the League Cup tie at Home Park and were also beaten at home by Plymouth in the league game, although the U’s did beat Plymouth 1-0 at the MGroupStadium to progress in the WFA Cup.

Plymouth are second in the table with an 11-point advantage over fourth-placed Oxford, although the Yellows have played one game fewer. They lie four points behind top-of-the-table Watford.

The U’s go into the game full of confidence following their 2-0 win over Hashtag United last weekend, although Plymouth will also be feeling positive having won their last five league games, including an important 2-1 win at third-placed AFC Bournemouth in their last outing, so it promises to be a very entertaining and hard-fought encounter in the south west.

The game is Argyle’s first women’s dedicated fixture for Project 35, the Pilgrims’ award-winning social impact project in partnership with Ginsters. They are encouraging supporters to bring items of in-date, non-perishable food, and hygiene products to Home Park to support their own Manadon Food Larder and the wider food-bank network.

Supporters will be housed in the lower tier of the Mayflower Stand, where tickets cost £5 for adults (free for under-14s). They are available on the day at the turnstiles or in advance HERE.
