Women Travel To Cheltenham Town In The League

Oxford United Women

Oxford United Women take to the road on Sunday looking to get back to winning ways following their 1-1 home draw with AFC Wimbledon last weekend.

Despite the result, there were plenty of positives for United manager Sam Rose as his side played some wonderful flowing football and were only denied the three points by the Dons’ dogged defensive display.

Cheltenham have had a mixed start to the season, losing 2-0 at home to Exeter City in their first game but then beating Real Bedford 4-1 on the road last weekend. They also beat Worcester City 2-0 at home in their first group stage game of the FA WNL Cup.

Speaking ahead of the game, Rose said: “It’s not going to be an easy league this season and no two games are the same.

“We will stick together and we will come good, I’ve got no doubt about that. We’ve got a really good group and it’s important that when things don’t go exactly how we want them to go that we stick together, learn why, improve on that, and onto the next one.

“I’m looking forward to playing Cheltenham next weekend.”

The game is a 2.00pm kick off at Cheltenham’s Kayte Lane stadium in Bishops Cleeve, GL52 3PD. Match tickets cost £6 for adults and £1 for under 18s. Visiting supporters can buy advance tickets HERE.
