Oxford United Under-18s travel to Wimbledon tomorrow with the aim of becoming Youth Alliance South Champions and booking their place in the national final.
The Young U’s have already claimed the title of South West Youth Alliance champions after an impressive league season. They will now travel to London to face the winners of the South East division, AFC Wimbledon.
The Dons dominated their league, winning it by an impressive eighteen points. They went on a couple of incredible runs - most notably their 14-game winning run from mid-November to late March.
Oxford themselves had an incredible run of form following a disappointing start to their campaign. After a run of ten wins in 11 matches, United finished the season with an 11-point gap over second-placed Plymouth Argyle.
The hosts have had a remarkable season not just in league football but have also picked up both PDL Cup and Youth Alliance cup titles, completing a treble across competitions.
United’s trip to London will be third time they’ve travelled to Wimbledon this season. They will be hoping for better fortune after a 2-2 draw between the sides in the league, whilst AFC Wimbledon knocked Oxford out early on in the Youth Alliance Cup.
A strong Oxford squad will be on show tomorrow, as they look to end the season on a high. Kick off will be at 12:30pm at the AFC Wimbledon Training Ground.
