“The Club is very forward thinking and progressive. We are looking to compete and keep pushing up the league, which is very important for me.

“Our aim is to finish as high as possible. We have come a long way in a short time which shows the progression of the Club.

“I love it here. Coming through the Youth Academy, there are a lot of familiar faces, and it helps me to come in, be myself and play freely.

“Being the 18-year-old coming through, the fans allowed me to express myself and be free. That has really helped me progress and I want to continue to entertain the supporters for years to come.”

Ed Waldron, Head of Football Operations, said: “We are delighted to have secured Tyler’s long-term future with the Club.

“Every season since his debut, he has continued to grow as a person and a player. It’s been fantastic to watch his progression from scholar to competing every week in the Championship.

“This is a very important piece of business for the Club, as it ensures we keep one of our best talents for the now, and the future.

“Still only 21, we are confident that there is much more development to come from Tyler, and we are excited to watch him progress as an Oxford United player.”
