Oxford United are delighted to confirm former England manager Steve McClaren as the Guest of Honour at this year’s End of Season Awards.
McClaren enjoyed a distinguished career at the highest levels of the game, both on and off the pitch. He concluded his playing days with Oxford United before moving into coaching at the Club in 1992. From there, he built a strong reputation through coaching roles with Derby County, Manchester United, and the England national team setup.
His managerial career began in 2001 with Middlesbrough, where he made history by guiding the club to its first major trophy, lifting the EFL Cup in 2004. That success led to him taking charge of the England national team, one of the most prominent roles in world football.
McClaren’s managerial journey also took him across Europe and beyond, including spells with FC Twente, VfL Wolfsburg, Newcastle United, and, most recently, the Jamaica national team.
Guests attending this year’s End of Season Awards will have the opportunity to hear first-hand from McClaren as he reflects on his career, sharing stories and insights from his time as a player, coach, and manager at the very top of the game.
