Shaunna Jenkins has been awarded High Performing Athlete Status from the RAF, allowing the 25-year-old defender to extend her stay at Oxford United.
Currently working with the Royal Air Force, Shaunna has been granted the status which will allow her to fully commit to her new contract with Oxford United.
A former Swansea City player, she joined United in 2023 and is delighted to be able to extend her stay in yellow.
Shaunna said: "I'm really pleased to be able to commit to Oxford United next season having been granted the High Performing Athlete Status with the Royal Air Force, which makes this possible.
"It's a great opportunity to continue developing both on and off the pitch and I'm looking forward to making the most of the challenges and experiences ahead. I'm excited to be part of the club's journey and can't wait to get started."
Head Coach, Sam Rose, said: "Shaunna has been on a professional playing contract with the club for a number of seasons, balancing her professional responsibilities in the RAF with her football, and that’s not always been an easy thing for her do.
"This prestigious recognition from the RAF means Shaunna will now receive their full support to pursue her football career with us at Oxford United.
"With this status, Shaunna will benefit from dedicated time to attend our full training and fixture programme for the upcoming season, whilst continuing with her career and responsibilities with the RAF.
"This is brilliant news for both the club and Shaunna, as we have no doubt that she will play an important role with us next season.
"We are excited, and extremely proud, to now have Shaunna as an integral part of our squad. We extend our sincere thanks to the RAF for supporting Shaunna through this process and for awarding her High Performing Athlete status."
