Oxford United's Pre-Season Summer Confirmed With Malaga Fixture

Oxford United

Oxford United’s final pre-season fixture of the 2025/26 season has been confirmed with a home game against Malaga.

The Spanish side will head to the Kassam Stadium on Saturday 2 August for a 2:00pm kick-off and it will be the final preparation ahead of the Championship campaign which starts the following weekend.

Currently playing in the second-tier in Spain, Malaga are a well-known name in European football. As recently as the 2012/13 season, Malaga reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League, with iconic players such as Javier Saviola, Julio Baptista and Isco.

It will be an exciting test for Gary Rowett’s side against another Spanish opposition, following the friendly against CD Leganes on Tuesday 29 July.

It confirms all of United’s pre-season fixtures this summer, starting with the tour of Indonesia, and ending with three home games at the Kassam. United have two games confirmed in Indonesia for the President's Cup, with a potential third game should the U's reach the final or third/fourth match.

The team will then return to England to take part in a number of friendlies against local and European opposition.

All ticketing details for our home matches will be announced in due course.
