Oxford United’s Men, Women & Academy were honoured at the annual End of Season Awards sponsored by D A Building & Roofing, with Stan Mills and Holly Manders winning the top prizes.
Taking place at the iconic Oxford Town Hall, Stan Mills and Grace Palmer scooped the Players’ Player of the Year Award, with Stan also winning the Supporters’ Player of the Year Award alongside Holly Manders.
Around 300 people gathered to reflect on the year across the Club, with the event hosted by TNT Sports' Liam MacDevitt, who was joined by former England manager Steve McClaren.
Guests enjoyed a three-course dinner provided by Elegant Cuisine as the awards were handed out, with a host of speakers entertaining the crowd, including Men’s and Women’s team Head Coaches, Matt Bloomfield and Liam Gilbert.
When it came to the awards, 10were handed out as we celebrated the efforts and achievements of both squads.
The first award of the evening was the Jack Casley Men's Young Player of the Year Award sponsored by Smiths Bletchington, which was won by Will Lankshear for his incredible year in front of goal, hitting double figures in the league.
It was then a new award for the year, the Women's Young Player of the Year Award, which was honoured in the memory of Amelia Aplin, who sadly passed during an Academy game. Amelia's family took the award, before it was announced that this award would forever be known as the Amelia Aplin Women's Young Player of the Year Award.
Next up was the Golden Boot Awards sponsored by Grundon Waste Management, with Will Lankshear and Emma Thompson taking home the prizes for the Men and the Women.
Community Player of the Year, sponsored by Bradford Decorating, went to Will Vaulks for his work in helping to develop a new suicide prevention campaign within the Club, as he looks to save lives from suicide.
The Mickey Lewis Club Person of the Year, sponsored by Wenn Townsend, went to Safeguarding Lead, Jack Nield.
The Joey Beauchamp Goals of the Season sponsored by Oxair were voted for on the night by the guests, with Cameron Brannagan’s crucial strike against Millwall, and Shaunna Jenkins' for the Women, with an incredible volley against Hashtag United.
Then it was into the prestigious awards of the night, starting with the Men’s & Women’s Players’ Player of the Year sponsored by Textures Flooring.
On the Men’s side, the players awarded Stan Mills, while on the Women’s side, it was Grace Palmer who got her hands on the honour.
Then it was the Supporter’s Player of the Year, first with the Women’s award sponsored by Gregory Surveyors, which went to Holly Manders.
Then, in the Andrew Knapton Men’s Supporters’ Player of the Year sponsored by D A Building & Roofing, Stan Mills got his second award of the night as he was honoured by the fans.
