Oxford United Football Club can confirm that CEO Tim Williams has taken the decision to step down from his leadership role with the Club.
A search for Tim's replacement has already begun and in the meantime, Tim will begin the process of handing over most aspects of his role to the senior leadership team remaining at the Club.
Tim joined Oxford United in September 2022 and has overseen a period of significant growth and change at the Club, the highlights of which were promotion to the Championship in May 2024 and two subsequent seasons playing in the second tier of English football.
Tim explained: "I took the decision some weeks ago that it was the right time for me, and for the Club, that I step down. The last four years have been some of the most rewarding of my career, and I'm incredibly proud of what we've achieved together. Oxford United will always hold a special place in my heart. After four years leading the Club, I felt this was simply the right time for me personally to step back and hand over the reins to a new leader.
"I have already started the handover process behind the scenes and will support the Club in some specific areas from the background in the coming weeks.
"I would like to thank the staff and players at the Club for their friendship, support and hard work over the last four years, and to every supporter who has been kind enough to greet me and wish me well over the course of that time. As you know, I have always acted in the Club's best interests.
"I would like to thank Grant Ferguson for his friendship and support over that time, and I wish Dusan and the rest of the leadership team all the best for the future.
"It has been a privilege to lead this Club for the last four years, but now it's time to rest a little and decide what the future brings."
