Returning manager Liam Gilbert’s first game back in charge of Oxford United Women is this Sunday at the MGroup Stadium with the visit of Luton Town in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup (kick off 12:00pm).
This is Luton’s second trip to Oxford this season following United’s 4-0 win over the Hatters in the Group Stage of the FAWNL Cup. Scorers for the U’s on that occasion were Emma Thompson, Maisy Barker, Grace Palmer, and Adele Lindbeak.
Gilbert will be hoping to reverse United’s recent record of three consecutive league defeats against a Luton side that lies in eighth place in Division One South East. He took the teams training this week and was at Sunday’s defeat by Plymouth as he gets to learn about his new charges.
It promises to be a great day at the MGroup Stadium. The gates open at 10:30am for the 12:00pm kick off and fans will be able to have their photo taken with the Adobe FA Cup trophy itself. The game is a double-header, with Oxford City kicking off their FA Cup tie against Swindon Town at 3:00pm.
