Oxford United to Play Bristol Rovers and CD Leganes At Home

Greg Leigh

Oxford United will continue preparations for the 2025/26 campaign with two pre-season fixtures against Bristol Rovers and CD Leganes at the Kassam Stadium.

The friendly against Bristol Rovers will be the first opportunity to see the Yellow’s back at our home ground, taking place on Saturday 26 July with a 3:00pm kick-off.

Leganes then arrive in OX4 just days later, with the game set for Tuesday 29 July with a 7:00pm kick-off.

The Spanish side will make for a stern test for Gary Rowett’s team, finishing 18th in La Liga last year with 40 points, just one point behind Sevilla and safety. They also reached the quarter-finals of the Copa Del Rey, narrowly losing 3-2 to Real Madrid.

Bristol Rovers will make for more familiar opposition, with the sides last playing at the Kassam in October 2023, with the U’s winning 2-1 with goals from Billy Bodin and Sam Long. The League Two team will come under new management with Darrell Clarke returning to Rovers’ dugout this summer.

Ticket details and remaining pre-season fixtures will be announced in due course.
