Kasway Burton awarded August's Tripp Hearing Goal of the Month award for his outstanding solo goal for the Under-21s against Swindon Town.
The young winger picked up the ball on the halfway line and embarked on a sensational run, beating six defenders before calmly slotting the ball into the far corner to seal victory over our local rivals.
The strike capped a memorable win for an Under-21s side that has made a strong start to the new season, and it has been an equally impressive opening to the campaign for Burton. Having also scored a brace away to Watford, he now has three goals to his name this season, and will no doubt be targeting another Goal of the Month award in September!
Receiving 51% of the votes from supporters voting exclusively through the Oxford United app, Burton’s strike narrowly edged a strong field. Holly Manders’ goal away to Exeter City finished a close second, while Gatlin O’Donkor’s headed goal away at Stevenage claimed third place.
Thank you to everyone who voted, and congratulations, Kasway!
