Oxford United Women travel to Crawley Wasps on Sunday in the quarter-final of the FA Women’s National League Cup
United’s excellent league form sees them above Crawley in the National League South but a defeat at theiropponents earlier in the season means the U’s will not be underestimating the task ahead of them.
Manager Liam Gilbert told us
“It’s another game where we’ve got some unfinished business from earlier in the season so we’re looking forward to that.”
Asked whether the game might upset their momentum in the league and give current leaders Ipswich and third placed Southampton a chance to gain ground Gilbert said,
“I’m not really worried about that if I’m completely honest. We preach a lot about control of the controllables and what we can control is the 90 minutes on Sunday and what we do at training, so that’s what we’ll focus on and we won’t change that no matter where we are or what we’re doing.”
Sunday’s game takes place at Horley Leisure Centre on Sunday (2pm). We’ll have a full preview later in the week.
