Oxford United head for Portsmouth on Tuesday evening looking to continue their excellent form.
A 4-2 win over Cambridge on Saturday made it three wins in a week but as boss Karl Robinson told iFollow, they face a tough test on Tuesday evening.
“I have always enjoyed the atmosphere at Fratton Park and there have been some really good games between us in the last three or four years" he said. "My first game in charge was there and our first game behind closed doors was also there. It’s a ground that always has that history and sense of drama and we’re looking forward to it.
“We had a good week but that’s gone and now we move on to the next challenge. We’ll have to do it without Elliott Moore who will be out for three or four weeks with an ankle injury. That’s a blow because he has been excellent for us, but he may be back slightly ahead of that and in the meantime we know we have players who can come into the side. That’s why we have built a squad with real depth and real character.
“I thought we showed that again on Saturday against Cambridge on what was a really emotional day for the whole club. But purely on the football alone it was a good day for us with another win plus Marcus Browne and James Henry both coming on as subs late in the game. They are quality players and are going to give us plenty of decisions to make going forward.
“The fans were incredible on Saturday and I am sure they will travel in good numbers again so I know it’s going to be a really good night and hopefully we can come out on top and get another win.”
