Oxford United U18s travel to AFC Bournemouth on Saturday as they look to continue their strong start to Merit League One (KO 11am).
The young U’s have had a great start to Merit League One with a 2-0 win over AFC Wimbledon followed by an excellent 1-0 away win at Portsmouth last weekend seeing them currently top the league. Leon Blackmore-Such and Chris Hackett’s side now face a tough test against AFC Bournemouth, who won the Youth Alliance League earlier in the season.
Leon told us:
“Bournemouth are a good academy and are a good side. They have their style and they try and play but with this league you’re never really sure what they are going to play because we had four or five U16s starting against Portsmouth. Whatever match up it is, these young boys will be prepped up ready and we hope we can carry on the good form that we have started with.”
The match will be played at Canford Park Arena, Magna Road (BH21 3AP) with an 11am kick-off. Entry to the match is FREE.
As usual we will have live updates on our official Academy Twitter page (@AcademyOUFC) as well as a match report right here and reaction after the game.
