PREVIEW Oxford United v Rotherham United

A fell guide as Oxford United welcome the Millers

10 January 2020

Four signings plus the return of a familiar face have set up another fascinating Sky Bet League 1 game at the Kassam Stadium on Saturday when Oxford United welcome Rotherham United. Come and back the U's as we take on the MIllers.

TEAM NEWS
United have four new faces available with Liam Kelly, Nathan Holland, Marcus Browne and Rob Atkinson all joining this week and looking sharp in what Karl Robinson told us was "the best training session I've seen"

"The new boys all looked good and it pushed everyone and made it really really sharp. That's exciting and hopefully we take it into the game itself."

Simon Eastwood returns in goal after a six game absence but James Henry is likely to be out for up to six weeks with a thigh injury.

See all of the new players plus Simon Eastwood and Ben Woodburn looking ahead to the game in  iFollow right now.

THE OPPOSITION
Rotherham Manager Paul Warne knows his side are in for a test against the U's, despite currently sitting in second inthe table

“When you play against the top teams it’s essential not to lose. If you said to me now would I take a point at Oxford, of course I would. I’d be stupid not to, but we’re trying to get three. We will definitely try to take the game to them. We won’t go and sit in behind the ball.”

“There’s no right or wrong in football, it’s just about winning,” he said. “The way Karl plays is excellent. He’s got the players to play that way and they cause problems. But the way we play with the players we’ve got is also excellent and that’s why we’re second. I think they are the best team in the league and will finish in the top two. They have strengthened really well with three signings this week. That will cause us a problem.”
