New Buses On the Right Track

New OX2 route proves a success

15 August 2019

Our new ‘Football Special’ match-day bus service connecting fans in Didcot and Abingdon to the Kassam Stadium proved to be a big success at our first home league game last Saturday

The new OX2 football service runs from Didcot to the Kassam Stadium via Great Western Park, Steventon and Abingdon and returns after the match. To launch the service Thames Travel offered free travel on the OX2 for the opening home game of the season and 70 people used the new route

The OX2 will run for all weekend and bank holiday league matchdays this season and will return when we take on Coventry City on 31st August- pleade note that it is not running for midweek matches during this trial period.

The new route strengthens Thames Travel’s Football Specials service with the OX3 and OX7 confirmed to continue this season - both of those DO run in midweek and will be available when we welcome Burton Albion to the Kassam Stadium next Tuesday.

The OX3 and OX7 services bring fans to and from United home games from Carterton, Brize Norton, Witney, Eynsham, Botley, Kidlington, the Banbury Road, Summertown, Marston and Headington.
