Oxford United’s Walking Football teams continue to grow and expand and this weekend will see them competing in the EFL Trust tournament on Saturday.
The U’s are through to the regional finals at Luton where five teams will take part in a mini league and the winners go through to the final.
Players have to be over 60 in this competition and it comes at the perfect time with the team looking to expand, with plans for a slower walking football weekly session with no physical contact for less-mobile players.If you’re interested in trying a free session, please email kenwroe8@gmail.com
In addition this Sunday will see two over 50 teams playing in the second round of the monthly Thames Valley League Fixtures at Bisham Abbey.
The Walking Football team looks to provide football of a competitive nature for those who wish to compete in league matches and tournaments. The club always welcomes players who just wish to play for fun and is a great way to stay fit while socialising and enjoying the beautiful game
