Oxford United look to keep building after a good win over MK Dons on Monday when they welcome Blackpool to Grenoble Road on Saturday.

A 3-1 win over the Dons has given United momentum as they prepare to take on the Seasiders, and Manager Pep Clotet is looking for his side to make it back to back home wins in Sky Bet League 1.

“It was a good win on Monday but now we have to carry that on against Blackpool” he told iFollow. “It’s another game in front of our home fans and not only do we want to gain momentum and build more confidence but also we know it is a fantastic opportunity for us to keep playing well at home.

“Home form will be vital. Well, every point will be vital, but especially at home because this is a very tough league to compete in. For example everyone was pleased with a point at Gillingham but we felt we should have had more from that game, then you see Gillingham winning away at Charlton. So home form is going to be really important in the second half of the season.”

United were well beaten at Bloomfield Road earlier in the season, meaning that Pep will be looking for his side to make amends this time:

“That was not a good performance. It’s very difficult to be at your best every game but that was not our best and we want to put it right. We are determined to do that and we have had time to prepare and have the confidence from Monday’s performance as well.”
