Top scorer wins Golden Boot and Player's Player of the Year
Oxford United Women’s Ini Umotong capped a fantastic season with the U’s by being named as WSL2 Player of the Season at last night’s WSL awards.
The 21-year-old forward bagged 13 goals in 19 games for the U’s and won the golden boot award as well as the Player of the Year title.
“I'm so delighted to win top goalscorer but I'm even more happy to win player's player of the year,” she said. “I feel honoured to even be nominated let alone win, so it's a big achievement for me.
It's been a very enjoyable season with a great team and we've been quite unlucky to finish where we did in the league, so the awards are certainly a very nice consolation. “
Manager Les Taylor said
“She deserves every bit of praise because her attitude is spot on, she works so hard and she has been a constant threat for us all season. We are delighted to see her win the awards and look forward to her continuing to improve and score goals again for us next time around.”
