Crocombe Gets New Zealand Call Up

1 September 2015

Max links up with the All Whites Squad

Oxford United goalkeeper Max Crocombe has been called up by New Zealand for an international game against Myanmar in Yangon this weekend.

Max flew out yesterday to link up with All Whites coach Anthony Hudson and a squad that sees established New Zealand players Winston Reid, Shane Smeltz, Jeremy Brockie, Michael McGlinchey and Marco Rojas joined by several of the youngsters who did so well at the FIFA Under 20 World Cup this summer.

“We have used the time leading up to now to identify the young players we wanted to work with moving towards the 2018 World Cup qualifiers,” Hudson said.

“A number of players have taken full advantage of that opportunity and because we now have a clear understanding of who those players are, we welcome back a number of our senior internationals for this trip.

“It’s great to have that experience and that quality back in the squad and we’re excited to begin the next stage of our preparations on the road to Russia.”
