United youngster gains international recognition
Oxford United are delighted to announce that 16-year-old defender Riva Casley has been selected to represent England under-16s during the Uefa Elite Tournament next month.
Casley, a first-year member of United's Jennings under-17 side, will join up with the rest of the squad at St George's Park in Burton on Monday April 6th.
She will be included in the squad for matches against Switzerland on April 8th, Sweden on April 10th and France on April 13th.
Academy General Manager Richard Blackmore said: “It's great news for Riva and also for the club as well, because the coaches have put in a lot of work to develop top quality players and the players themselves have worked hard to continue their improvement. I'm confident Riva will do really well for England.
“Riva is one of five or six very bright players currently in their first year at under-17 level and we're really looking forward to seeing that age band progress to senior level.”
