United players to wear wristbands in memory of Oscar Cole

The Oxford United squad have been wearing wristbands at their training camp in Austria to help raise awareness for the Thinking of Oscar charity.

The charity was set up by Hannah and David Cole, whose son, Oscar Noah Cole, died of encephalitis after initially contracting osteomyelitis when he was 16 months old in June 2014. The Coles live in Kirtlington, the same village as United captain Jake Wright, who suffered from the same illness when he was a child.

Thinking of Oscar is hoping to raise £100,000 for the Oxford Children's Hospital and Jake said: "We are very proud to be raising awareness for the family. They have been unbelievable and all of the players are wearing the wristbands with pride."
