Saturday's big game gets fuel injected
Oxford United’s SkyBet League 2 fixture against Southend this Saturday is set to have a little more ‘va va voom’ on display than usual as it is officially ‘Motorsport Day’ at the Kassam Stadium.
In honour of the world renowned reputation that Oxfordshire has gained for its motorsport and motorcar production, fans are invited to arrive earlier than usual and immerse themselves in the latest local motoring productions.
This unique experience allows fans young and old to view a vast range of motor cars, varying from an exhibition of Marussia’s imposing Formula One range, to a racing Mini, produced and tested locally in Oxfordshire. The Quantel Bifold Racing MG6 BTCC car will also be on display and their number one driver, Marc Hynes, will be on hand to meet the fans.
Also attending the game will be apprentices and representatives from MINI Plant Oxford who will be on hand to talk about their exciting apprentice opportunities.
The team is also scheduled to have a mystery mascot in attendance on the day. Whilst his real identity remains unknown, some say that he can’t play football….
