Men at the top chat with the supporters at Fans Forum
An entertaining and enlightening Fans Forum was held at the Kassam Stadium this evening with around 200 fans meeting the men at the top at Oxford United.Chairman Darryl Eales, chief executive Mark Ashton and head coach Michael Appleton spent around 90 minutes talking to the fans in the Oxford Suite of the Quadrangle.
After a short introduction from Mark Ashton, the panel dispensed with the usual presentation and instead asked supporters for their questions and suggestions on any subjects relating to the U's.
These ranged from stadium ownership, team selection and financial matters to the day-to-day running of the club and the matchday experience.
One feature of the night was the two-way nature of many of the discussions, with the chairman and chief executive asking fans for their views on the matchday music, whether the away fans should be moved to another area of the ground and the possibility of moving home games to Friday evenings, among other things.
The evening ended around 9pm with Darryl telling us:
"It was good to meet fans again. We have met so many supporters ever since we arrived at the club and there were some really interesting discussions this evening. There is such a passionate fanbase for the club and we wanted to listen to their ideas and see what they think of some of our own. It was an enjoyable evening and we look forward to meeting the fans and working with them to keep the club moving forward."
