Yellow Army on Tour

14 November 2013

Fans get behind the U's at Mansfield

United fans will be travelling en mass to the Yellow Army On Tour - The Big Away Day on Saturday to cheer on the team.

Ticket sales smashed the 700 barrier last night as the momentum builds towards the L2 match at Field Mill.

And with two days to go to snap up tickets the Yellow Army today issued a rallying cry to United fans who have not got one to be part of it.

"We're delighted to break the 700 mark," said Matt Organ.

"Yet again United fans have done the club proud and hopefully with a couple of days to go we're really hopeful we can add to the number.

"It's important fans remember the match is all-ticket - no-one will be able to pay on the day, so it's vital you call the club this week if you want to go, there's still time to get yours.
"The away end is going to be really noisy on Saturday and that will help the players."

As part of the United We Stand campaign the Club has backed the Yellow Army On Tour - The Big Away Day by dropping the £2 non-members fee for any fan who wishes to travel by a London Road Travel coach to the match.

Coach tickets for the game on November 16th are £15.  So make sure you book yours in time to join the Yellow Army convoy to Mansfield.

"This offers great value for money and is probably the best way to get to Mansfield, so we're delighted the club is backing the big day," said Greig Box Turnbull, of the Yellow Army.

"We've had some fantastic away days this season and created some top atmospheres. To sell more than 700 tickets for Mansfield is an excellent achievement."

The Yellow Army picked Mansfield away as a game to create an extra special atmosphere for a big away game. It forms part of the Yellow Army's ambition to improve the match-day experience and atmosphere this season, both home and away.

United fan Joe Nicholls added: "We know what we can achieve when we really unite as Oxford fans. "Mansfield is gearing up to be a really important match, we're determined to keep backing the players and I know we can make a difference on the day.

"Fans have been organising mini-buses and car shares and a lot of have booked onto the London Road coaches and trains, so it's been a great effort.

"I'd encourage United fans from all over the country to book their tickets and come and be part of this and help cheer on the team. I can't wait for the match."
