No fresh injury concerns ahead of Fleetwood clash
United have no fresh injury concerns ahead of the trip to Fleetwood this weekend, despite a tough physical contest against Newport on Tuesday. The side has been severely depleted by a number of injuries to key players in recent weeks but assistant manager Mickey Lewis is pleased with the way the squad has coped with the setbacks.
“It was a very hard, physical game against Newport,” he told Yellow Player. “But we didn’t pick up any fresh injuries and we go to Fleetwood with the same squad. One or two of the youngsters have had a chance in recent weeks and have shown they can step up.”
Influential midfielder Andy Whing will be absent until February, however, the 29-year-old requiring an operation after tearing a groin muscle in the 3-1 win at Mansfield a fortnight ago. He will remain on the sidelines alongside important players such as Alfie Potter, Jake Wright, Jon Meades and Sean Rigg.
Tickets are available from the ticket office until 3.00pm tomorrow and are cheaper if purchased in advance.
