Oxford United Football Club are looking to recruit an experienced, professional and dynamic Sales and Marketing Director. Candidates should have a background in professional sport, preferably in the football or rugby sectors, to include both sales and marketing activities. The highly motivated individual will join the Senior Management Team and will oversee all commercial areas of the business, including direct management of a small team of eight commercial staff involved in sales, marketing, media and ticketing.

The position reports directly to an ambitious long-term owner with extensive successful experience running sports clubs, who took direct control as Chairman/CEO six months ago and is building his new management team to achieve the club’s Championship ambitions. The club has no external debt.

Based at Oxford United’s stadium, the successful candidate will be tasked with developing and implementing a cutting-edge and target-driven strategy to increase the number of people watching Oxford United, to generate additional revenue and to enhance the profile of the club locally, regionally and nationally. Strategic and day-to-day management responsibilities include all aspects of marketing, media, ticket sales, corporate hospitality, sponsorship, retail and merchandise sales, advertising revenue and other income generation aspects of the club. 

This exciting position is ideally suited to ambitious existing Senior Managers in sport or to aspiring business leaders who must have a strong work ethic, appropriate qualifications and the experience and ability to unlock the considerable potential of the club and its new forward-thinking approach to football and business performance.
