Oxford United Fun Day a Great Success
The Oxford United Fun Day was once again a fantastic success today as hundreds of fans enjoyed themselves at the training ground. The Youth and Community Trust opened the event with five a sides for all of the age group teams that they work with. Chris Allen and his youth team supervised shooting accuracy and speed gun competitions while fan groups the 12th Man and Oxvox joined the fun. Youngsters could enjoy everything from crazy golf, bouncy slides and merry go rounds to rock climbing, rowing and rides.
Indoors there was a superb golf simulator and the chance to star on a programme cover while Alan Hodgkinson MBE was on hand to sign copies of his new autobiography 'Between the Sticks'
Alan's former pupil Ryan Clarke was joined by Alfie Potter, Scott Davies, Sam Long, David Lynn and Callum O'Dowda while United legends Mickey Lewis and Mike Ford were also present along with the successful Ladies team.
Gemma Drewett who organised the event told us:
"It went really well. The weather behaved until right at the end and I think everybody had a good time. It was important that all areas of the club got a chance to show what they do and for fans to be able to come and chat and enjoy themselves."
