The Cotswolds’ best known festival – Cornbury Music Festival celebrates its 10th year this weekend at Great Tew Park near Chipping Norton.Oxford United are once again supporting the event which will feature Van Morrison, Keane and Squeeze as its headline music artists, the festival’s line-up includes many artists chosen by the public as their favourites from the previous 9 years which include Imelda May, Beverley Knight, The Proclaimers, Bellowhead, Echo & The Bunnymen along with new artists ; X Factor winner James Arthur, Scottish chanteuse Amy MacDonald and hunky popstars Lawson.
Along with this musical feast the festival boasts a large diverse children’s area, 6 stages including the Absolute Radio Comedy Emporium, an award winning range of caterers, over 40 festival shops and even 4 Caffe Neros ! Cornbury has a new Festival of Words in partnership with Qi (the much loved TV show invented in Great Tew) featuring a wonderful selection of literati from Alan Davies, Julie Burchill, Katy Brand, John Niven and Salena Godden.
The festival is in partnership with several local charities including Helen & Douglas House and ROSY and nationally with Save The Children who are running a campsite entertainment competition.
With award winning local brewer Hook Norton the festival is creating an anniversary ale ‘The Glorious 10th’ which will be available from pubs in the area a month prior to the event. If you haven’t attended ‘Poshstock’ before, this is the year to try it !
