United Captain Jake Wright's superb start to the season has been recognised as he has been awarded the npower League 2 Player of the Month award.

Jake said:

"We have made a decent start to the season and the defence has gelled pretty quickly. It's a great honour to pick the award up on behalf of the whole team really. I am enjoying my football and it's always nice to know that people recognise that we have been playing pretty well."

Gillingham boss Martin Allen won the Manager of the Month award and npower Sponsorship Manager Emma Collins said;

“We’re delighted to present both Martin and Jake with their awards as recognition for their impressive starts to the season.
