Left back signs for United
Oxford United have strengthened their squad with the signing of left-back Luke O'Brien.
Luke, who turned 24 this week, has played close to 150 games for Bradford City, where he came through the youth ranks and was Player of the Year, Supporters Club Player of the Year, Under 25's Player of the Year and the Players' Player of the Year for the 2008/2009 season.
The five foot seven left-sided defender left Bradford in January this year to join Exeter City, but left the Grecians this summer and was a free agent.
Having trained with United he signed this morning just before the 12 o'clock deadline to be eligible to play at Burton Albion tomorrow, subject to clearance from the Football League and Football Association.
Manager Chris Wilder welcomed Luke to the U's:
"He is a player we have seen a number of times over the years and he has always impressed. He has a lot of games under his belt considering his age and is keen to do well here. He has a chance to come in, show us what he can do, and be part of what we are trying to build.."
