Ellie Noble joins the U's

Midfielder joins on loan from Crystal Palace Women

2 February 2024

Oxford United Women are delighted to announce the loan signing of Ellie Noble from Barclay’s Women’s Championship side Crystal Palace Women until the end of the season.

Ellie Noble, who joined Palace in 2022, returns to Oxford United after progressing through the pathway at her hometown club.

The talented midfielder brings a wealth of experience, energy and skill to the middle of the park for the U’s as they look to continue their strong run in the FAWNL Southern Premier Division.

Ellie told OUFC.co.uk

“I'm 24 now, so it's been a little while but Oxford still feels like home. I've always kept an eye on results and I've always wanted Oxford to win.

“There's been so many positive changes and it's been nice to come in and actually see them for myself now.

“Unfortunately for me, I had a bad injury whilst I was at Palace, but the way I was looked after was amazing and I'll always be grateful for how they looked after me and all the girls at the time.

“I love to get on the ball. I love to score goals outside the box. I love to put a tackle in. But I think the biggest thing for me is I just want to be on the ball all the time and I just want to keep the game flowing from the middle of the pitch and help out where I can.

“I think it's always great to join a group that are already winning and already on such a strong run, so it'll be a great experience for me. I think it means you have pressure, but I think pressure is a good thing and it means that we've been performing well and I can't wait to help out.

Manager Sam Rose said

“Ellie is an exciting addition to the team. Her experience in the Women’s Championship and overall quality with the ball is something that will help take our group forward between now and the end of the season.

“The loan adds further depth and competition for places to the squad and also helps Ellie with much needed game time after what has been a difficult period of time for her with injury.

“She’s no stranger to Oxford United, having started her senior playing career at the Club and playing for the junior teams. We’re pleased to have been able to bring her back to the club and to the area, and no doubt she is going to make a big contribution to our results on the pitch for the remainder of the season.

Watch Ellie Noble and the rest of the squad in action as they travel to London Bees on Sunday the 4th of February.

If you can’t make it on Sunday then we return home on Sunday 11th February when we take on Portsmouth!
