United Women's Strong Development Pathway Continues

Young Centre Midfielder Ellie-Mae Richardson further highlights success of the Regional Talent Centre

Oxford United Women have seen yet another promising player come through the ranks at the Regional Talent Centre, as Ellie-Mae Richardson has stepped up from the Under 16s and into the Development squad.

Richardson has been at the club for almost a decade. We caught up with the young centre midfielder to see how it’s been settling in.

“It’s been really good and some of it’s been challenging, obviously the tempo is higher than I’ve been used to in the Under 16s, but I’ve really enjoyed it.”

“This is my ninth season at the club, and I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time so I’m proud of the achievement.”

“Everyone’s been really friendly and encouraging so it’s been an easy transition. I’ve had to learn to move the ball faster and take less touches but it’s a great learning curve.”

“I’ve scored and got an assist already, which is a part of my game that the staff have been helping me with. The goal now is to work hard and try and push to make my debut for the first team in years to come.”
