Oxford United Women look to keep their unbeaten league record intact as they welcome Ipswich Town FC Women to Court Place Farm this Sunday.

Kick-off is at 2 PM and tickets will be priced at £6 adults / £3 concessions / U16s FREE.

The U’s go into the game sitting at the top of the Southern Premier Division, one point above Portsmouth Women with 6 games played. United are the only unbeaten side in the division with four wins and two draws, including a 1-1 draw at home to Watford last time out.

“We discussed the sloppy moments from last week with the group and they’ve been spot on, they’ve reacted in the way that we knew they would. If I’m honest there’s been a bit of disappointment that we weren’t at our best which is brilliant to see with the calibre of opposition, we were up against. We’ve had a really good week and hopefully that carries on” said Manager Liam Gilbert.

Having lost their first two games of the season, The Tractor Girls visit Court Place Farm off the back of four wins on the trot without conceding, including a 7-0 FAWNL Cup victory over Queens Park Rangers.

Both sides were at the top last season, with United leapfrogging the East Anglian side in the table on the last day of the campaign to finish second. United won 1-0 away at Gillingham, while Ipswich lost to Portsmouth by the same scoreline.

“They’ll be up for it and they’re a very good team with some very good players. They may want to get one over on us and that will be on their mind. As far as I’m concerned that’s last season’s business and we are focused on a new set of targets with a new group of players” added Gilbert.

Oxford also did the double over Ipswich last year, winning 1-0 away and 3-1 at home when the visitors were top of the league.

“They’re a strong team full of young talent and they’ve got some experienced faces in there as well. We had two really tough games against them last year, we know what they’re about. We want to get back out there and get three points on the board and there’s no better place to do that than back at home” said Captain Lauren Haynes.
