The 24-year-old arrived in Oxford in January 2025 from Eredivisie side FC Utrecht.

Starting his career at NEC Nijmegen in the Netherlands, Romeny then joined Emmen in 2022 where he scored 11 goals in 33 top-flight games in his first full season.  

A former Netherlands Under-20 representative, Romeny moved to FC Utrecht in 2023 and in November 2024 he opted to represent Indonesia at national team level, for whom he has six caps and three goals so far.  

Romeny made his debut in the home victory over Luton Town in January 2025 and scored his first goal against Coventry City in March.
