Women Travel to Hashtag in WFA Cup

Oxford United Women

Oxford United Women are in cup action again this weekend, although this time it’s in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup as they return to Hashtag United for a second time this season.

The U’s go into this fixture on the back of scoring 14 goals without conceding in the past two games, while last weekend Hashtag were beaten 4-1 by Lewes at Parkside. The home side sit second from bottom in the National League Southern Premier Division, while Oxford are in fifth place.

United have already played at Hashtag in the league just three weeks ago. Charlotte Keller gave the home side the lead, with Shaunna Jenkins equalising just a minute later. Oxford will be hoping to go one better on Sunday after leaving Parkside frustrated with just the single point.

Oxford manager Sam Rose said: “We have a bit of a point to prove. I think we deserved more from our league game, but we have momentum and confidence and we’re all good.”

Sunday’s game kicks off at 3pm and tickets are available on the gate for £5 for adults or £3 and £1 for concessions. The game is played at Parkside, Aveley RM15 4PX.
