Following last week’s postponement against Real Bedford due to the tragic passing of Academy goalkeeper Amelia Aplin, Oxford United Women are back in action this Sunday as they travel to Essex to take on Billericay Town (2:00pm kick off).
United were last in action two weeks ago, when they won 2-1 at Exeter City to leave the U’s fourth in the table. They will be looking to resume their incredible run under Liam Gilbert when they visit the league’s bottom side. Since Gilbert’s return, Oxford have won six out of their seven league games, just losing narrowly to the league's top side, Watford.
Billericay have had a difficult season and find themselves adrift at the bottom on the table. In the reverse fixture at the MGroup Stadium, Oxford United won 10-0 with both Emma Thompson and Holly Manders scoring impressive hat tricks.
If you want to go along and support the women, the game will be played at the New Lodge, Blunts Wall Road, Billericay CM12 9SA. Tickets cost £7 for adults and £3 for under-16s and are available on the day or online HERE.
There is free parking at the BTFC Community Pitch car park, next right after the main entrance, and also at the hospital at the top of Blunts Wall Road. There is food and drink on offer in the clubhouse and the club provide a free downloadable programme. There is a disabled section in the main stand.
The Real Bedford game has been rearranged for Sunday 19 April, 1:00pm kick off.
