Oxford United Women begin a big week by welcoming AFC Bournemouth to the MGroup Stadium on Wednesday for a National League Southern Premier fixture (7:45pm kick off).
Last weekend, United lost for the first time under Liam Gilbert’s second spell in charge, after seven straight wins, as they went down 4-3 at top-of-the-table Watford in a pulsating game.
However, Bournemouth, in third place, are just five points behind Watford (and seven ahead of fourth-placed United) and one behind second-placed Plymouth, with three games in hand.
In fact, the Cherries haven’t had a league game since 4 January, having been involved in three cup competitions in the meantime.
United will be desperate to get back into winning ways but will have their work cut out against a Bournemouth side with aspirations of WSL 2 football next season. In the reverse fixture, then managerless United lost 2-1 at the Vitality Stadium in front of 5,850 spectators.
Come along on Wednesday and support the Women as they look to get back to winnings way ahead of their Adobe Women’s FA Cup Fifth Round tie against Charlton Athletic on Sunday.
There is always a fantastic welcome at the MGroup Stadium, with a well-stocked bar and the excellent Burnout BBQ offering great food.
Admission is £8 for adults; £4 for over-65s, Blue Light Card holders, and men’s season-ticket holders; £3 for under-18s; and £2 for under-13s. Under-7s get free entry. Tickets are available both on the turnstiles (cash or card) and online HERE.
